Usage
overview
- Enter an http address in the address field
of the embedded browser. This address should be chosen as containing a list
of thumbs galleries. Then press the Enter key or click the Go button.
- When the page is displayed, find a link
containing a thumbnail gallery, then ctrl-click on this link (click while
pressing the left control key). The URL address of the link is copied into
the scanner address field and the "analyzing html page" indicator
light starts twinkling red, indicating that ThumbNavigator is searching
thumbs in the chosen link and the other pages of the linked site.
- If thumbnail pictures linked to full-sized
pictures are found in these pages, the "downloading files"
indicator light starts twinkling green, and a new tab is created behind the
Main tab for each page containing thumbs. Click on the tab, and you will see
the thumbnail images appear inside the tab.
- Press the "Get all" button to
start downloading all the full-sized pictures, or click on the thumbs you

Embedded
browser
Using your favorite browser:
From your browser, simply copy the link
supposed to contain thumbs to the clipboard (right-click on the link and click
"Copy"), then switch to ThumbNavigator (e.g. by Alt + Tab) and
right-click on the scanner address field. This pastes the link in the
field and starts analyzing recursively the pages of the site.
Using the embedded browser:
The embedded browser has minimal
features. Use it or not? The embedded browser is
not necessary, but very useful. Simply enter an http address containing a
list of thumbnail galleries in the embedded browser address edit field, then
press <Enter> or click on the "Go" button.
To send links to analyze directly in the html
pages scanner, simply hold the ctrl-key and click on the link. The link is
copied into the html pages scanner and the scanning starts immediately. On the
other hand, redirections and pop-up windows are disabled in embedded browser.
For this reason you won't be worried with redirections and pop-up windows...
- By pressing the ctrl-key, the "browser
captures" indicator light twinkles blue and indicates that clicking on
the links will capture them into the html scanner;
- You can ctrl-click several links
simultaneously, they will be scanned together. But you could have a lot of
tabs opened!
Html
pages scanner
Description
The scanner recursively analyses html pages,
starting from the page entered in the address edit field, and limiting the
scanning to the site of the initial URL. As soon as thumbnails are found, tabs
are created behind the "Main" tab. Clicking on the tab allows to see
the thumbnails. Click here for more info about tabs.
The search depth value allows to limit the
number of pages read, to avoid opening too much tabs on huge sites.
Buttons and indicator lights
start button:
Starts analysis of the html address entered in the address edit field. This
address is supposed to be a thumbnail gallery page, or a page linking to this
page (limited to the search depth level value). The analysis ends when:
- all the pages from the site have been gone through,
- the search depth level has been reached for all the links,
- the stop html analysis button has been pressed.
reload button:
allows reloading already analyzed html pages from disk if the store
pages on disk option is enabled.

stop html analysis button:

search depth level:
On huge sites, a high value can return all the images from the site, opening a
lot of tabs (1 per thumbnail gallery page found). A range between 4 and 8
usually provides good results.
browser captures indicator light:
The browser captures indicator lights on when pressing the ctrl-key. This
feature allows catching a link displayed in the embedded browser by
ctrl-clicking it. This action sends it directly to the html scanner and starts
analyzing the related pages. This is intended to avoid repetitive copy / paste +
"press start" clicks between your favorite browser and ThumbNavigator.

several pages with a lot of thumbs, and clicking on the "get selected"

full-sized pictures are added at the top of the list and are downloaded firstly.
disable "no pictures found..." warning:
if the html scanner doesn't find any pictures in the related html pages, a
warning is displayed with an "Ok" button. If this option is disabled,
