Type of the RecordingMethod property.

Value	Description
rm_AVI	the recording will create an AVI or MPEG file,
rm_ASF	the recording will create an ASF file,
rm_SendToDV	the audio/video streams will be sent to the DV device
rm_MKV	the recording will create an MKV (Matroska) file, see AVI and MKV recording. The MKV recording is natively supported: the selected VideoCompressor / AudioCompressor are used (CompressionMode = cm_CompressOnTheFly); without compression, RecordingInNativeFormat = true records an MJPEG source as is and encodes the other sources in H.264 / AAC ("H264 (Auto)" / "AAC (Microsoft)" entries), RecordingInNativeFormat = false records uncompressed video and PCM audio. The file can be played while it is recorded, and stays readable up to its last seconds after a crash. With the Datastead Multipurpose Encoder selected as VideoCompressor, the FFmpeg codecs are used instead. rm_FLV	the recording will create a Flash video in FLV format, see FLV recording
rm_MP4	the recording will create a .MP4 video clip, see MP4 recording. The MP4 recording is natively supported: H.264 / AAC through the Microsoft and GPU codecs; the H.264 encoder can be chosen in the VideoCompressors list, e.g. "H264 GPU (Nvidia)", with CompressionMode = cm_CompressOnTheFly
rm_WebM	the recording will create a .WebM video clip, see WebM (VP8) recording recording)
rm_MPG	the recording will create a .mpg file (MPEG)
rm_Multiplexer	used to record by using another third-party multiplexer specified with SetMultiplexerFilterByName
rm_MOV	the recording will create a .MOV file through the FFmpeg codecs of the Datastead Multipurpose Encoder (IP cameras recorded in native format: Datastead RTSP/RTMP/HTTP/ONVIF Source Filter)
rm_TS	the recording will create a .TS file (Transport Stream). Useful if the capture device outputs a transport stream and RecordingInNativeFormat =true
rm_H264	the recording will create a .H264 video file (no audio)
rm_MP3	the recording will create a .MP3 audio clip, natively supported (Microsoft MP3 encoder, Windows 8 or later)
rm_WMA	the recording will create a .WMA audio clip, natively supported (Microsoft WMA encoder)
rm_WAV	the recording will create a .WAV audio clip
