GenICam Vision Source Filter – changelog – version history

2.1.0 – October 30, 2026

added

– 32-bit application support: Datastead_GenICam_x86.ax, installed and registered by the automatic installer together with the 64-bit filter

– a 32-bit application sees the same capture devices, under the same names, with the same property pages, settings and interfaces (IGenicamControl, IGenicamControl2, IAMVideoProcAmp, IAMCameraControl) as a 64-bit application

– manual installation: new Install_Manually\x86 folder with its own _REGISTER_FILTER.cmd / _UNREGISTER_FILTER.cmd (the 64-bit filter must be registered first)

changed

– system requirements: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit edition only, also for 32-bit applications; the GenTL producer (.cti) used is always the 64-bit one

– the automatic installer also installs the Visual C++ 2015-2022 x86 redistributable

– automatic installer renamed DatasteadGenICamDirectShowAutoInstaller.exe (formerly DatasteadGenICamAutoInstaller.exe)

1.1.7 – September 14, 2026

added

– 30-day fully functional evaluation period: all pixel formats, no watermark, no time limit

– signed license keys (ECDSA P-256), installed as a DatasteadGenICam.lic file or passed at run time with IGenicamControl2::SetFeatureValueString(NULL, key)

– trial keys, to extend the evaluation period without any restriction until their expiry date

changed

– single package: the separate evaluation and licensed builds are replaced by one binary, the license key alone makes the difference

– after the 30-day period the video keeps streaming with a permanent evaluation overlay, the filter never stops nor refuses to start

– the raw RGGB Bayer output is no longer limited to 60 seconds during the evaluation period; once the period has expired the pin offers RGB24 (debayered in the filter) instead of raw Bayer

– SetFeatureValueString(NULL, key) now returns documented error codes (0x80040300 to 0x80040304) instead of a generic failure

1.1.6 – September 9, 2026

initial release

– GenICam Vision Source DirectShow filter for USB3 Vision and GigE Vision cameras
